Our days before Christmas

We put our Christmas tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving! Our Christmas tree has character and a beautiful story on how it arrived to our home. It is the very first Christmas tree Mikey and I bought as a married couple. Actually I didn't go with him to buy it. Mikey was determined to get up one Black Friday morning at 4am, to wait in line at the Target near our home, to buy our first Christmas Tree. I'm not sure who else was in line that early to buy a Christmas tree, but it was so sweet how excited he was to run in and buy it! It was exciting when he brought it home! It kinda felt like he went to the mountains and picked it out. I'm unsure if picked it out is the proper way of saying it, but chopped it down sounds kinda brutal. :) Anyways he brought it home and we decorated together with hot cocoa and Christmas music! We shared stories about the few old ornaments we had, and how we got them. It was like we were catching each other up on all the years we missed out together because we were kids and obviously not married yet. :)  Every year Christmas decorating has been a blast with him! We have discussions about how we are going to move our furniture so we can fit our tree, we add Christmas tunes to our Pandora radio, we pick up a box of hot cocoa at Walmart, that usually lasts us for almost a year because hot cocoa comes in a super box with close to 100 packages, and we reminisce about our ornaments. Niko is learning and is just as excited about Christmas decorating as we are. Now that he is two, I was expecting him to go straight to the tree and try to take all the ornaments off. He didn't exactly do that, but he did make sure the pretty shiny baseball sized ornaments wouldn't bounce on the tile. He was right, they don't bounce.... they just break. The good thing is, he didn't try this with all the ornaments just a couple.. I think just enough to prove his theory. :) We are excited to continue the excitement of decorating every year so Nathaniel can catch on too! Here is a picture of our Christmas tree..

Our days before Christmas are starting to get chilly... actually they are expecting snow today! But the days that are sunny we try and go outside.  I took some pictures of the boys outside last week..

The days that are cold and chilly we stay inside and do indoor activities..

This is a good, healthy, favorite indoor activity

And of course it wouldn't be God's Drooling Surprise without a little drool..
