Apparenty, I had alot to say this week. I thought of making one big blog post of Christmas, Updates on boys, and Mikey's new blog, but that would be too much and cluttered... so----- here is to Day 3 of the first week in January 2012!! I should have made some kind of New Years Resolution of blogging more... but then I probably wouldn't be blogging more. :-)
On January 20th, Friday evenings from 8-10pm, Mikey and I will be starting up a new ministry at our church Calvary Chapel Sun City (coffee shop). It will be for college age kids. As many of you know already, Mikey and I left our ministry with Plugged Youth Middle and High School group, so we would be able to do this ministry. We prayed lots about it and although it was a hard decision to make, we felt the Lord really calling us to this ministry. Our ministry name is Sojourners. And the name is taken from the Bible where it says in 1Peter 2:11-12 "Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshy lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evil doers, they may,by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation". Our mission is: To Worship the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, To build up the church of Jesus Christ, through the teaching of the Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, To persuade men and women to repent and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
We are extremely excited and blessed to be able to start this ministry at our church!! Mikey has started his own blog, which gives more insight about our ministry and his own thoughts as a Sojourner in Christ. Aside from running and possibly drinking coffee; Mikey and I have found a new hobby in blogging! But not just us.... our boys have also found new hobbies too!
Niko is taking up a new hobby in finger painting.. he has tried this before but it is becoming more fun for him now that he is getting older. He likes getting paint on his fingers and at times dumping the cup of water all over his painting. It gives it that added professional artistic look ;-)
Nathaniel has also taken up a new hobby, reading!! He tells Niko, "Never to judge a book by its cover, you first must gum it then lick it"
gumming and licking books is only suitable for 4 month old babies, adults please don't try this at home
